Beginning Creative Writing

Service Description

Students will learn the basics of creative writing, including the study of specific settings, plots, and characters. Emphasis is placed on descriptive writing, varied sentence structure, thesaurus use, and learning to self-edit. Reading Requirement: Students will complete a novel from an approved hero's journey reading list. Age Suggestion: 10+ Creative Course Sequence: beginning creative course; precedes Writing the Hero's Journey Time Required: Approximately 3 hours per week, plus 1-hour weekly online class time.

Cancellation Policy

To drop your student from this course and receive a full refund, please contact us at writing@home2teach prior to receiving your class password. You will receive an email at least 48 hours in advance of class passwords being shared. Parents may request a refund, minus a $25 processing fee, during the pre-class steps of the course. No refunds will be provided after the student has received the class password. Changes to student status must be requested during the pre-class period (1 week prior to the start of class). Students may transfer courses within the same intersession OR apply their payment to a future intersession course. No refunds will be provided after the student has accessed the Canvas classroom. Families who do not respond during the pre-class steps week will have their registration automatically transferred to the next session.
