Using these concepts, students will also review main aspects of academic writing, focusing on effective introductions, sound thesis statements, strong topic sentences, appropriate elaboration, and successful conclusions. Special attention will be given to grammar issues regarding the comma with a focus on increasing sentence variety with compound and complex sentence structures. Students will gain confidence in self-editing and revising for both content and clarity. Students will learn to analyze two differing entities with accuracy and critical thinking. Using this analysis, students will be introduced to a variety of graphic organizers with which they will arrange the information. The time listed on the schedule is reserved for our OPTIONAL live Q&A session. How It Works: Each week, students will read the week's lesson and then access on-demand video lessons at the start of each week; these videos, recorded by our Home2Teach instructors, will guide students through a review of the focus skills for that week. After completing the video review, students will have the option to attend live "office hours" meetings with their teachers and fellow students. Course activities will take place in the Canvas learning management system. Lessons, course materials, requirements, and the revision process will remain the same.
