Narrative Writing 1 & 2

Service Description

Students will learn personal event journaling techniques which will generate ideas for writing a short autobiographical account of an event. They will also learn how to write simple interview questions, conduct a short interview, and write a short biographical account of their interviewee. Included will also be instruction on how to write a friendly letter and address a letter. Journaling of daily reading of a book of the student’s choice will be an ongoing part of the class. Focus will continue to be on setting up a paragraph, including topic sentences, details, and closing sentences, as well as basic grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Age Suggestion: 10+ Main Course Sequence: follows Descriptive Writing; precedes Wise Writers Time Required: Approximately 3-4 hours per week, plus 1-hour weekly online class time.

Cancellation Policy

To drop your student from this course and receive a full refund, please contact us at writing@home2teach prior to receiving your class password. You will receive an email at least 48 hours in advance of class passwords being shared. Parents may request a refund, minus a $25 processing fee, during the pre-class steps of the course. No refunds will be provided after the student has received the class password. Changes to student status must be requested during the pre-class period (1 week prior to the start of class). Students may transfer courses within the same intersession OR apply their payment to a future intersession course. No refunds will be provided after the student has accessed the Canvas classroom. Families who do not respond during the pre-class steps week will have their registration automatically transferred to the next session.
